IF – “Clumsy”
I have been busy lately and haven’t been able to play Illustration Friday in a while…but finally got to it this week! Here is a quick one of my idea of clumsy, or what could potentially result in some clumsiness…

DC
And here is the second painting I just completed, this one of the DC skyline at night. I have this one scanned in, for easy reproduction hopefully sometime in the near future!

New Landscape Paintings
It has been a busy few months for me! Working on a children’s book project, as well as starting a new series of landscape triptychs. Here is the first one I did…of the corner of First Ave and 10th St in NYC, my old block.

New Fall Mailer!
I just mailed out a round of promotional postcards for the fall, here they are:
And while I was taking pictures in my office I thought I would share my workspace. Here are some photos of my computer/clean desk and my painting/messy desk:

Nothing crazy different or exciting, but I always like seeing where other people work…so enjoy!
Macy’s Parade
Reminiscing about going to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as a kid, and how the balloons used to really scare me…the seem HUGE when you are just a little kid! Especially if they are carrying weapons…

Illustration Friday – “POISE”
If you can remain in this difficult splits position whilst balancing on a pier in a major metropolitan area and having a bird #2 on your hand, then I would call you poised.
Sort of rushed through the coloring of this one, wanted to post it before it became Friday again. Will probably revisit the color palette when I get a chance…

FINALLY got to fixing this and i really am liking how this turned out…

Mural time!
After almost 3 weeks, we finished the wine aisle mural for the Trader Joe’s in Paradise Valley. I have been working as a sign artist there for almost 6 months now and got the OK to design and execute a few new murals for the store with my 2 fellow sign artists there. The merwomen were painted on pieces of mdf that were cut out and then mounted to the wall – same with the barrel. The only part actually painted on the wall are the waves and background. With the help the other sign artists, we got it cut, painted, lettered and up on wall. Looks like there will be 2 more murals to come, sometime in the next few months. I spent many hours with these ladies, so you should know the mermaid on the left is Tanya, and merlady on the right is Sparkles. Enjoy!

Illustration Friday – “SUBTRACT”
Here is a quick one…It appears that gravity and wind have subtracted all of the grapefruit from my grapefruit tree.
